Mayor Cluck Defeated by Williams in Reelection bid

LNA,
According to the city’s unofficial election results, Jeff Williams will be taking over as Arlington mayor, beating three other candidates.
The vote count for William was 15,499, on the other hand mayoral incumbent Robert Cluck received 10,461 votes. Another candidate Jerry Pikulinski secured 519 votes, where candidate Didmus Banda received 211. William stayed in Arlington for 30 years and he is also a civil engineer. William said during a debate in April, that community leaders in Arlington encouraged him to run for mayor and it is essential for the city to market Arlington’s qualities. He said, “It is time for us to be marketing our entire city.”
Now, Williams will take over the office Cluck. He held the position for 12 years. In an earlier interview Cluck had said that he would continue to work in hospital administration if he is not re-elected for the mayorship.
Cluck has also served on the City Council for four years before he was elected as mayor. Cluck told that he ran re-election because he wants to finish the project of bringing a five-star hotel in Arlington.
Cluck said in an earlier interview it was nice being a mayor here for 12 years. “I probably would not have run this time if I didn’t have some big projects, hanging out there like the hotel. If I don‘t win in this election, I’m okay,” he said.
